1. The National Unity Government (NUG)
In Sintku Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army conducted an airstrike on Letpanhla Village. According to Mandalay People’s Defence Force, a local woman lost her life and 5 other people were injured in the incident.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG wrote to the Russian government that the contracts signed with the military junta would not be beneficial sustainable investments.
The spokesperson of the NUG’s Presidential Office stated that the NUG appreciated Canada and Switzerland for their sanctions imposed on the military junta in March.
On Monday, Union Minister of Communication, Information and Technology-NUG discussed matters related to internet services with Sagaing Federal Unit Hluttaw.
2. Revolution Activities
In Yesagyo Township of Magway Region, a junta troop contingent set fire to Bisatgone Village in Yaelegyun Area at about 11:00 am Tuesday.
In Taungthar Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army carried out a bombardment via paramotors on Mangyi Pinte Village on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, a monastery and some houses were damaged.
In Oatshinpin of Bago Region, over 100 junta soldiers died and 20 others were injured in the battle against the Arakan Army in Nyaunggyo Village.
In Sintku Township of Mandalay Region, 27 people lost their lives on the spot in the junta’s airstrike on the stalls in Letpanhla Village. Three days after that, the junta army carried out another aerial assault, killing 3 people including a woman.
Ko Htein Linn (alias) Kim Aris, the younger son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, is on a tour of 8 cities in the United States to call for responsive action from the international community to help resolve deteriorating humanitarian and political crises in Myanmar. Reportedly, he arrived in Boston on March 16.
The Special Envoy of the United Nations Human Rights on Myanmar stated that the cut of the USAID’s funding for humanitarian aid in Myanmar had severely impacted Myanmar people in a negative way.
In Salin Township of Magway Region, there has been local fighting on a daily basis. With heavy losses, the junta army has been restrengthening their forces.
In Sagaing Region, a rally of Yinmabin North marched for responsive action of the International Labour Organization against the military junta in accordance with Article (33).
In Salingyi Township, a local rally of Revolutionary Peacocks protested against the military dictatorship.
3. Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
In the compound of Karen National Liberation Army Brigade (7) on Thailand-Myanmar border, a suicidal drone fell and exploded near the residence belonging to Commander Major General Saw Jonny on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, there were no casualties in the incident.
In honour of the 37th Chin Revolution Day on March 20, Chin National Front declared amnesty on 72 detainees.
4. The Military Council
In Pyin Oo Lwin of Mandalay Region, the military junta arrested a Rakhine ethnic man named Ko Nay Soe (alias) Thuriya Soe for being associated with revolutionary organizations, namely the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw and the NUG.
The junta’s Minister of Investments and Foreign Economic Relations stated that it is important to get support from respective ministries and state and regional governments to get started with investments. He added that they are ready to assist investments in accordance with the law.
The junta’s Central Bank stated that they have been selling 2.2 million USD daily on average through the foreign currency from CMP business for importers of edible oil and other consumer goods.
The junta’s Consulate in Chiang Mai announced that Myanmar citizens staying in Thailand must present recommendations from the ward and the police station in Myanmar if they want to obtain the recommendation of the embassy to extend their visa.
In Falam of Chin State, there has been heavy fighting between an alliance of Chin Brotherhood and the junta army. Reportedly, the junta army has had to defend hard with aerial support in order not to lose the town.
In Tatgone Township, 2 people were caught along with 16 weapons and bullets among turmeric roots in a car on Kinthar-Pinlong Road.
The junta’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs received Nepal Ambassador to Myanmar in Naypyidaw.
