The National Unity Government (NUG) Activities
The joint committee of the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and the NUG sent a letter calling on the revolutionary forces to stand together against the junta’s fake election and peace process.
In a regular coordination meeting of Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw, the Ministry of Human Rights-NUG presented about their activities and action plans.
According to Sagaing Regional People’s Defense Force, two soldiers conscripted by force for the junta army, along with weapons, defected to them.
A junta policeman from Hlaingbwe Myoma Police Station in Karen State defected to Myeik District PDF (3).
Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management-NUG warned that there might be river flooding, sudden flooding in urban areas, landslides and riverbank collapses due to heavy rainfall. They also urged those living in the low-land areas, displaced people and those living on the riverbanks to take caution.
On Friday, there was a meeting via Zoom between the NUG led by Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La and the Coordination and Drafting Committee of the Interim Political Measures for Mandalay Region.
In Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the junta’s inspection gate near the town of Sagaing. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died, and a gun was confiscated.
Revolution Activities
According to Students’ Army, the members of their Executive Committee met with the Minister of Defense-NUG and discussed action plans.
In Myaing Township of Magway Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing via paramotor on O-Yin Village. Reportedly, a man lost his life in the incident.
In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, there have been local battles due to the junta’s invasion in the area. Reportedly, local people have had to flee overnight.
According to Justice for Myanmar, the military junta with sanctions on foreign trade banks such as MFTB and MICB have been using money-carrier planes for the payment of military supplies from Belarus.
In Myaing Township of Magway Region, there was a mine attack on the members of Pyusawti Militia on their way out for rations. Reportedly, there were casualties among the junta members.
The UNHCR-India has transferred confidential information of Myanmar refugees to the government of India. Regarding it, 141 organizations sent a complaint letter to the UNHCR Headquarters to take action against the UNHCR-India.
Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) Activities
The Deputy Commander in Chief of the Karen National Liberation Army asserted that all Karen people must fight for freedom, their own state, self-determination, full enjoyment of rights and the right to life by taking up arms.
According to the Secretary of Karen National Union Brigade (4), they managed to regain control along the border areas of Tiki-Tita. However, the border trade between Thailand and Myanmar will not be able to resume yet as the junta army has been stationed in Dawei.
In the press conference on Saturday, the spokesperson of Ta’ang National Liberation Army stated that the junta army has constantly conducted bomb attacks and invaded the area with a large number of forces to regain Naungcho. Reportedly, the mediation of Chinese government has worked quite well and there have been efforts for a ceasefire.
In Kyaukgyi and Shwe Kyin Townships of Bago Region, 5 people lost their lives and 25 others were injured due to the junta’s aerial attacks and heavy weapons, according to the KNU (Central).
The Chair of Karen National Union stated that the military junta would not be able to bring about peace and development of the nation. He also called for resistance against all forms of dictatorship including the military one.
The Military Council Activities
On Friday night, the military junta announced that it would be like stepping back on the path of democracy if the revolutionary forces including the PDFs gave up their arms.
The military junta invited the revolutionary forces including the PDFs to get to the intended destination by fully taking part in the election.
According to the junta’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, there would be legal action against those spreading rumors about Meteorology and Hydrology on social media.
The military junta provided 6 kinds of household and kitchen utensils to earthquake-effected government employees in Naypyidaw.
The junta’s Ministry of Immigration and Population stated that retired staff who had served the nation for years could ask for help when applying for E-ID.
On Friday, the junta’s Central Bank sold over 1.7 million USD to importers of edible oil.
The Chair of the junta’s Myanmar Press Council stated that media manual handbook for the upcoming election would be published in October.
On Friday, the 2nd meeting on combating cross-border crimes among China, Myanmar and Thailand was conducted in Naypyidaw.
